ISLAMABAD: The sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee took notice of attitude of Senate Secretary for not appearing before it and decided to write a letter to Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani for not allowing the Senate Secretary to appear before the sub committee.
A meeting of the sub-committee was held on Monday with chairperson Shahida Akhtar presiding over. The agenda was to take into consideration the accounts of Senate for the financial year 1998-99.
However, Secretary Senate did not appear before the committee and the official of the PAC told that the Senate Secretariat had informed them that the Senate Chairman did not allow the Secretary Senate to appear before the committee.
Members of the sub-Committee suggested to chairperson to write a letter to Chairman Senate for not allowing the Secretary to appear before the sub committee. Further Chairman Senate be requested to ensure appearance of Senate Secretary before the committee.The audit paras relating to the Statistics Division were also not taken up due to absence of the Secretary Statistics Division, who did not attend the meeting due to his bad health.
