One dies, 15 hurt in Quetta blast
Three labourers killed in Pasni gun attack; forces nab two key terrorists

QUETTA: One person was killed and 15 others were injured after an explosion near the Bacha Khan Chowk here on Sunday.
In Pasni, unknown terrorists shot dead three labourers. Also, personnel of the law enforcement agencies arrested two key terrorists and recovered weapons from their possession on Sunday.
In the first incident, a bomb blast took place near a shopping centre in the area near the Bacha Khan Chowk. The bomb blast smashed the windows of nearby shops and plazas and also damaged vehicles parked nearby.
According to the Quetta Capital City Police Officer Razzak Cheema, the bomb was fixed to a motorcycle parked in the area.The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital, Quetta, where an emergency was imposed to provide treatment to those injured in the explosion. The area has been surrounded by the FC personnel and police.
Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has taken notice of the blast and called for a report. The Bacha Khan Chowk is a business center located in the heart of Balochistan’s capital city. The area was at its busiest when the blast occurred. Shopping centres and shops in the area were closed and traffic suspended after the blast.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.Meanwhile, three labourers were killed in what appears to be a targeted attack in the Pasni district of the Balochistan province.According to Levies sources, unknown gunmen shot and killed three labourers in Pasni. All the three victims belonged to the Khanewal district of Punjab.
Sources add that assailants also snatched weapons from the Levies men and sped away.Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicions are likely to fall on Baloch insurgents groups.
Online adds: Personnel of law-enforcement agencies conducted a sting operation in Quetta’s area of Goharabad in Sunday’s wee hours and arrested two key terrorists.The operation was jointly launched overnight by the Frontier Corps (FC) and police in the Sariab area of Goharabad. Security forces seized firearms from the arrested extremists.
According to security sources, the terrorists are involved in numerous targeted killings and bombings in Quetta. Both of them have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
