KP CM pays tribute to Abdus Sattar Edhi
NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday dismissed reports about a cabinet reshuffle.
Talking to the reporters here, he said that certain news channels were speculating a change in the provincial cabinet but the reports were untrue.
He said, “The manifesto of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) guarantees spending a lion’s share of provincial resources on the uplift projects for the downtrodden segments of the society.” The chief minister also expressed grief over the sad demise of renowned social worker Abdus Sattar Edhi.
He said that personalities like Edhi were born once in centuries who spent his life to serve the ailing humanity. He said the mission the great social worker started should not die down with his death.
“This would be the greatest tribute ever Pakistanis could present to Abdul Sattar Edhi in recognition of his lifelong struggle for the downtrodden segments,” Pervez Khattak said.
Showering tributes to laud the services of Edhi, the chief minister vowed to support Edhi Foundation and its other branches in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He also lauded the federal government and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif for attending the funeral prayers for Abdul Sattar Edhi, who was laid to with state honours.
Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra expressed his deep condolence on the sad demise of great social worker Abdus Sattar Edhi.
In his condolence message, the governor expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the death. He expressed sympathies with the members of bereaved family.
The governor prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with patience.
The governor also paid rich tributes to the services which the deceased had rendered for the humanity.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said he saved thousands of lives through determined efforts and philanthropy.
The governor said that Abdus Sattar Edhi rendered services for the humanity without any discrimination.
