Prison reforms underway, says minister

NOWSHERA: Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel has said the government would soon introduce prison reforms.
Talking to reporters during his visit to Nowshera Prison, he said that government was introducing reforms in prisons across the province to make the prisoners productive citizens.
He said the chief minister directives of commuting sentences would be implemented across the province. The minister distributed sweets and gifts among the prisoners.
Superintendent of the Nowshera Prison Najam Abbasi told the minister that that the prison had capacity for 130 inmates while over 350 inmates had been kept in it.
