CM for transparent industrialisation plan

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has called for a transparent mechanism to implement the industrialisation plan that will lead to the growth of all sectors in the province.

He said this after attending a presentation made by Economic Zone Development and Management Company Chairman Ghulam Dastageer Khan and Chief Executive Mohsin M. Syed.

The chief minister directed that industrial plots in Hattar industrial city, proposed Rashakai industrial city and Kohat/Karak industrial city should be formally announced set into the motion the industrialisation drive in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier, the chef minister was told that Hattar land area was 1424 acres and 1001 acres were saleable.  

“Applications have been received from over 300 companies for the purchase of 910 acres to be sold for setting of industrial units. This will generate an expected Rs90 billion and give 50,000 direct jobs and 500,000 indirect jobs to the public of the province,” the chief minister was told. The chief minister was told that the Rashakai industrial city will comprise of 1,000 acres of land and the salable acres are 700.

A total of 250 factories would be set up that will fetch in an expected Rs70 billion investments and will contribute Rs500 billion to the GDP and 25 billion in taxes.
