Minister praises police performance

Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sindhu has said that dutiful, hardworking and brave policemen are pride of Punjab police. He said that despite hot weather police officials had performed their duties in an appreciating manner in Ramazan. 

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on security arrangements of religious places of minorities across the province. He said he himself would visit various districts to monitor arrangements for security of religious places, would discuss with district and local administration and police in order to improve and digitise the security system of religious places of minorities. He said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was taking every possible step for protection of minorities rights. The chief minister does not bear any negligence in this regard, he added.

Sindhu said the Punjab government had allocated a huge amount for improvement of law and order across the province, in current fiscal year. He said law and order would improve after launching Safe City Projects in big cities. He paid special thanks on behalf of all minorities community to IG Punjab police and home secretary for their full cooperation. He said a task force on human rights at provincial and district level would be established soon, which would help to expand the network of department at grass root level. Members from provincial assembly, DCO and DPO will also be the members of task force. At the end, future road map regarding security of religious places was also discussed.
