Choked sewage lines
JHANG: On the directions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Water and Sanitation Agency Faisalabad Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz and Public Health Engineering Department Superintendent Engineer Muhammad Abdullah visited Jhang and inspected choked sewage lines in different areas.
According to a press note issued by the district administration here on Friday, the visiting officers submitted a report to the Faisalabad commissioner for forwarding it to the CM. TMA Administrator/ADC Muhammad Awais Malik, EDO (F&P) Tariq Javed, DDO (Planning) Haider Ali and TO (I&S) Muhammad Aslam were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, in a complaint to the CM, PML-N MNA Sheikh Muhammad Akram said that the recent rains had exposed the poor performance of the Jhang TMA as one to two feet dirty water could be seen on Toba Road, Burjiwal Chowk, College Chowk, Basti Attawali and other localities of Jhang. He pointed out that a large number of ghost sanitary workers were getting salaries from the TMA.
EID GIFTS: Federal Ombudsman’s Director General Sheikh Zafar Iqbal visited the District Jail here on Friday. He distributed Eid gifts among 25 minor and 17 female prisoners. Superintendent Jail Sheikh Afzal Javed and others were also present.
