Citizens robbed of cash, valuables

GUJRANWALA: Locals were deprived of cash and valuables in several incidents on Wednesday.

In Alipur Chattha bandits intercepted Ghulam Farid and his wife and snatched Rs 37,000, gold ornaments and a cell phone.

Abdul Mannan and his wife were deprived of Rs 40,000, gold ornaments and two cell phones in Tatlewali. In Sadar police area Shafqat was robbed of Rs 13,000 and a cell phone. Bandits intercepted Jafar and Abdul Hameed and snatched Rs 25,000 and four cell phones from him in Ahmad Nagar. At Kamoke dacoits snatched Rs 32,000 and two cell phones from Irfan. Azam and his wife were intercepted by gunmen and were deprived of Rs 25,000, gold ornaments and a cell phone at Ferozewala. At Gakhar Mandi, Ashraf was robbed of Rs 22,000 and two cell phones by dacoits. Robbers snatched Rs 38,000 and a cell phone from Azmat at Wahndo. In Sadar police area dacoits snatched Rs 20,000 and a cell phone from Yasir. Qamar was deprived of Rs 17,000 and a cell phone in Sabzi Mandi police limits. At City Wazirabad area, robbers snatched new motorcycle from Arshad. Sumera was deprived of Rs 25,000 in Kotwali area. A car (MBA 1441) of Bashir, and new motorcycles of Ashiq and Hamza were stolen from different parts of the city.

COPS’ GRANTED BAIL: A civil court Wednesday granted bail to eight police officials who were booked in an escape case of a murder accused from judicial lock up. The police produced the accused cops before the court and the court granted bail to all of them over surety bonds of Rs 30,000 each. Murder accused Usman escaped from the judicial lock up some seven days ago and police arrested the cops, including in-charge judicial lock up Inspector Akram Gill.
