Soft tennis events from July 17
KARACHI: Two events of soft tennis would be played here from July 17-23, Sindh Tennis Association (STA) announced on Wednesday.
It said it would collaborate with Pakistan Soft Tennis Association (PSTA) to hold these two events as part of the 1st Ebrahim Merchant (Memorial) Ranking Tennis Championship.
“This is happening for the first time in national tennis history,” said Khalid Rehmani. “The event is to be played at Karachi Club and the championship is being organised in the memory of renowned Chartered Accountant of the country who passed away last year,” he added.
The referee of the event added that with the support of Para Sports Pakistan (PSP) an event of Para Athletes would also be played during the championship.
Khalid said that singles categories are men, ladies, under-17, under-15, under-13, under-11, and under-9 players.
Doubles events for 35-plus and 45-plus age categories will also be played. The last date of entry is July 15. All out station players will get daily allowance as per STA rules.
