2 motorcyclists killed in accidents

FAISALABAD: Two motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents on Tuesday.
Waqas Ahmad, of Chak 507/GB riding his motorcycle when a speeding car hit him, leaving him dead on the spot. On Jhang-Faisalabad Road, Nasir Ali of Chak No 295/RB was hit by a speeding car and suffered injuries. He was shifted to Allied Hospital where he died.
FCCI FOR DOUBLING FAISALABAD-LAHORE RAIL TRACK: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Nawaz lauded successful experiment of Pakistan Railways to run trains at maximum speed of 150 kilometers per hour.
In a statement, he said it was a big achievement on the part of the PR. He said the railway track between Faisalabad and provincial metropolis should be doubled to run fast trains. He said the PR should conduct a comprehensive survey of traveling passengers on this route and the timing of trains should also be decided in consultation with the FCCI and other stakeholders. He said more bogies should be attached with trains scheduled to depart Faisalabad early in the morning and then return back in the evening. He said the PR should also review extending this train to the upper parts of Lahore. He said travel from railway station to canal road area consume more than one hour which could be saved by extending this route up to Lahore Cantonment Railway station.
TWO INJURED DIE: A boy and a woman, who were injured in two separate accidents died in hospital on Tuesday. Kalsoom Bibi of Shah Jewana and a teenager Iftikhar Ahmad of Mangat Morr died in Allied Hospital. They suffered critical injuries in two different road accidents and were brought to this hospital where they remained under treatment for an overnight.
MAN INJURED: An unidentified man was injured when he jumped down from the Jhal Khanoana flyover. He was shifted to Civil Hospital where he was lying unconscious.
Seven injured as heavy rain, dust storm hit Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Dust Storm followed by heavy rain left seven people injured here on Monday night.
In Chohla Pulli, Asma and Anam were injured when the wall of their house collapsed. Four persons Abdul Latif, Muhammd Hussain, Muhammad Iqbal and Shahid Ali were critically injured due to collapse of an under-construction house at Liaqatabad. Muhammad Latif was seriously injured when the wall of his house collapsed at Chak Jhumra.
The rain continued intermittently for more than two hours, which inundated low-lying areas of the city. Almost all the streets and roads were filled with rainwater. The Wasa took necessary steps for draining out rainwater from low-lying areas and its pumping stations remained operative round-the-clock.
After rain, the weather became pleasant in Faisalabad. The sky was still cloudy and more rain was expected within the 24 hours.
BAHAWALPUR: Light rain with cool breeze brought some relief for the people of the city and suburbs on Tuesday morning. The Bahawalnagar district and Chishtian also received light rain, providing relief to the people from scorching heat.
PAKPATTAN: The city and it adjoining areas received light rain following a storm. The rain turned the weather pleasant. However, the rainwater entered the low-lying areas and choked sewerage in the city.
