Stern action to be taken against hoarders, profiteers: ADC

JHANG: Additional District Collector (ADC) Muhammad Awais Malik said stern action would be taken against hoarders and profiteers.
Paying a visit to main Ramazan Bazaar at Zail Ghar Shaheed Road, the ADC said the masses would be provided quality essential items at cheaper rates in Ramazan Bazaars and in open markets. He directed the Assistant Commissioners, District Food Controller, Market Committee Secretaries, Price Control Magistrates and other officials concerned to make all-out efforts to facilitate the masses. Taking to reporters, the ADC said relevant officers were taking action against hoarders and profiteers without any discrimination. Awais said under Ramazan package, provision of subsidized and quality items during Ramazan is the responsibility of the officers.
RESCUE 1122 PERFORMANCE REVIEWED: Rescue-1122 District Emergency Officer Dr Tariq Saeed reviewed the performance of the Rescue 1122. He was briefed that the Service received 8,884 emergency calls from 1st Ramazan to date and 211 calls were about incidents, including 286 road accident calls, 856 medical emergency calls, 19 fire incident calls, 37 crime calls, two drowning case calls and three building collapse calls. He said emergency response time has been observed average 4.2 per cent while dealing all kind of emergencies.
