Agha for using modern technology

to maintain city’ cleanliness

FAISALABAD: Commissioner Momin Agha Monday directed the Waste Management Company to compile waste generation data to improve cleanliness system in actual terms in the city.

He was briefed by acting MD Col (retd) Ammad Gill on the cleanliness system of Faisalabad Waste Management Company during his visit to the company office. The commissioner stressed use of modern technology in connection with keeping the city clean. He said the capacity of lifting of 100 per cent waste of the city should be attained. The commissioner said a union council should be selected in connection with maintaining its cleanliness with pictorial evidence. He said the system of door step collection should be improved and plastic bags of prescribed colours should be provided in each and every house. The commissioner suggested launching a campaign for placing different colours dustbins in schools for collecting the waste and medals/glass, tins and other solid waste, separately. He said available machinery should be used in a batter way and the waste lifting vehicles should be washed regularly. The commissioner directed that the waste lifting vehicles should fully be covered with net and plastic shields and this issue should be taken very seriously. Gill said four urban towns had been divided into 34 zones with regard to the cleanliness campaign. He said 1,600 metric ton was generating daily in Faisalabad city but FWMC has the capacity of lifting 1,050 metric ton waste.

 

Girl murdered by cousin over marriage issue

FAISALABAD: A girl was murdered over a marriage issue at Chak 272/RB, Dijkot.

Ilyas Masih wanted to contract marriage with his cousin Sawera, but her parents refused. It infuriated Ilyas and he allegedly shot Sawera dead and injured her mother Nasim. The injured woman was shifted to the Dijkot hospital.

THREE KILLED ON ROAD: Three people were killed and five others injured in different road accidents here on Monday.

In the first incident, Safia Bibi, a resident of Chak 195/RB, was killed while Rani and her son Ali Abbas were seriously injured when their motorcycle slipped and collided with a trailer. The injured people were shifted to a hospital.

In the second incident, Iqbal Bhola of Chak 209/RB was killed while three others, Qamar, Faisal and Anwarul Haq, were injured in a collision between a truck and a bus near Sidhar Bypass. The injured people were shifted to the Civil Hospital. In the third incident, Mubashir Ahmad, a resident of Chak 295/RB near Gojra, was crossing a road when a car crushed him to death.

STUDENT DROWNS: A class nine student drowned in Gogera Canal Branch on Sunday night. Miqat Sikandar of Buchiana along with his class fellows was taking bath in the canal when he drowned. His body could not be recovered till the filing of the report.

TWO BOOKED: Lundianwala police have booked two clerics for misusing loudspeaker. They are Maulana Mehboob Ahmad and Qari Manzoor Ahmad of Chak 630/GB. They were using loudspeaker to collect donation.

SIX BOOKED: Police booked six people on the charge of house trespassing at Chak 380/GB. Shahjahan and five others had illegally entered the house of their rival Muhammad Amir and allegedly manhandled his family members.
