PESHAWAR: A Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader on Tuesday claimed that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has refused to join the opposition’s grand alliance.
Speaking to Geo News, PTI’s Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram disclosed that the Maulana had some reservations over local politics. “On the instructions of the PTI founder, Maulana Fazl had been assured that his concerns would be addressed,” he added.
Sheikh Waqas said that Maulana Fazl initially asked for time to consult with his party but later declined to join the alliance. He said that the PTI founder had already issued a statement on the minerals bill. “Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will first brief the PTI founder on the bill.”
