Loadshedding badly hitting tailors
Rawalpindi
With Eidul Fitr is round the corner the tailors have stopped receiving new orders due to which the customers are running from pillar to post to get their clothes tailored even on extra charges.
While there has been a surge in the demand for tailoring services many customers complained that the prices were quite steep in some places, higher than what they usually were in the past.
"The tailors are just cashing in on the situation and demanding extra charges for stitching clothes. There must be some kind of check and balance at the government level to monitor the rates of stitching clothes before the Eid days," said Riaz Khosa, a resident of Asghar Mall Scheme.
The children are also taken to tailors by senior members of their family so that they, too, can share the joy of wearing new clothes on the Eid days.
Asad Gohar, a resident of Dhoke Hassu, said the tailors are charging Rs900 to 1,100 for sewing the clothes of children but there is no one to take action in this respect.
Zahoor Ellahi, a tailor, said they have to follow a tight delivery schedule so they work day and night in the holy month of Ramazan but despite that they are not able to meet the orders because all working activities were hit badly by power loadshedding.
