Flood plan finalised

JHANG: The district administration has finalised a flood plan, said acting District Coordination Officer Shaukat Ali Khichi.
Chairing a meeting here on Friday, he said that the plan would be implemented in letter and spirit. He said that a flood control centre had been established. The DCO directed the departments concerned to take precautionary measures to protect the lives and properties of the people from the expected flood. He directed the irrigation engineers to monitor water situation in all rivers, besides checking of flood safety walls of Chenab and Jehlum rivers. The DCO directed the ACs to extend liaison with the patwaris and lumberdars for timely information to the people living along river belts in case of flood threat. He said that no negligence or delay would be tolerated in this regard.
