Korean envoy, PHEC team meet UET VC
LAHORE:A Korean delegation, led by the Korean Ambassador and accompanied by officials from the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) here on Thursday and met with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir to discuss academic collaborations.
During the meeting, both parties emphasised the importance of fostering student exchanges and collaborative research in areas of mutual interest. The Korean ambassador highlighted the strong, productive, and uninterrupted bilateral relations between Pakistan and South Korea, stating that these ties could greatly enhance educational collaboration between the two nations. Dr Shahid Munir underscored UET Lahore’s international reputation and its appeal to students from various countries. He explained that UET actively maintains partnerships with national and international institutions to enhance technical capabilities. He affirmed the university’s openness to faculty and student exchanges, as well as to signing agreements for joint research initiatives. The Korean delegation expressed confidence in South Korea’s strength in the field of engineering and encouraged Pakistani institutions to benefit from it.
