MULTAN: The South Punjab chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party has called on the government to protect farmers from financial ruin by procuring wheat from growers at reasonable prices.
This demand was voiced by PPP South Punjab President Syed Ahmed Mehmood during a meeting with party officials, led by Senior Vice President Khawaja Rizwan Alam and Chief Coordinator Abdul Qadir Shaheen, on Wednesday.
Syed Ahmed Mehmood implored the government to consider the situation facing farmers, emphasizing that agriculture is the cornerstone of the national economy. He argued that policies should be formulated in consultation with farmers, not solely based on bureaucratic advice, to address their concerns.
