Outdoor event defining spring!
Islamabad:The monthly meeting of Floral Art Society (Magnolia Chapter) was held at a private farm in Islamabad and began with the recitation of Holy Quran after which Kehkashan Khwaja read the minutes of the last meeting.
The program, “Outdoor Group Arrangements” is self explanatory and a competition was held among eight groups, each having a group leader and five members. They were allocated different spots in the vast and picturesque Elahi Farm to showcase their exhibits. Each exhibit showcased a different view/understanding of what the season brings, making it interesting and a learning experience.
Asma Ansari, Sarwat Aslam and Faiezah Shahid were the judges and Asma being the senior most, announced the results 1st Group (D) led by Farhana Azeem; 2nd: Group (H) led by Nusrat Bilal; 3rd. Group (C) led by Bushra Maqsood and commended: Group F led by Ghazala Abdullah
Farida Kalim, a seasoned floral artist distributed the prizes among the winners and participants. President Magnolia, Wiqarunnisa Boolani appreciated everyone for showing their zeal and expertise in floral art, as such competitions are a source of learning for new comers and they polish the skills of seniors at the same time. Birthday girls were given small tokens. It was a creative and fun filled get together, ending with lunch and a sweet treat provided by one of the members, who surprised everyone with her so far unknown baking skills!
