Two injured in Bajaur lightning strike
KHAR: Two persons were injured and dozens of goats perished after being hit by lightning in the remote Kaga Mandro forest area of Bajaur’s Mamond Tehsil on Saturday.
According to local sources, the lightning struck in the Sarkai area of Mandro forest, severely injuring two residents identified as Bahadar and Saddam, son of Wali Saeed. Both injured persons were promptly shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar for medical treatment.
In addition to human casualties, the lightning strike caused the death of several dozen goats, inflicting a significant financial loss on local herders.
The region is considered one of the most underdeveloped areas of Bajaur district, which has made emergency response and rescue operations more challenging. However, local authorities said that relief efforts were currently underway in the area.
