GHA to protest in front of CM’s House today
LAHORE:The health professionals, protesting under the banner of Grand Health Alliance's platform in front of Punjab Assembly on 11th consecutive day Thursday, have decided to move their sit-in in front of Chief Minister's House on Friday (today).
Speaking to the media, YDA Punjab President Dr Shoaib Niazi said that the government remained unmoved despite health professionals continuing their sit-in in this intense heat for the last 11 days.
He said that they were protesting against privatisation. ‘Despite pressure from our community, he said we are not closing OPD services. We will not harm poor patients by boycotting outdoor services’, he added. He appealed to the Chief Justice to help dispense them justice.
Meanwhile, the SH&ME Department has suspended LGH's Head Nurse Khalida Tabassam for allegedly inciting protests and closing OPD in the hospital, under PEEDA Act 2006. She has been ordered to report the department.
