Sindh govt committed to supporting progressive educational initiatives, says Murad
In an inspiring ceremony, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday addressed the Convocation 2025 of Ziauddin University as its chief guest and praised the institution's remarkable journey.
He congratulated the graduating students of the university on their academic accomplishments and future potential. The event was held at the Education City Campus of the Ziauddin University on Link Road and celebrated resilience, dedication, and transformation of the educational institution, with the presence of its Chancellor Dr Asim Hussain, Pro-Chancellor Dr Nida Hussain, CEO Dr Ammad Hussain, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abbas Zafar, faculty, board members, proud families of the graduates, and graduating students. It was the university's first convocation held on its Education City campus on the outskirts of Karachi.
In his keynote address, the CM extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and their families. “This day,” he said, “is not only about academic achievement but is also a tribute to the resilience and dedication each of you (every graduating student) has shown. As you step forward, let your purpose be noble, your goals ambitious, and your impact far-reaching.”
He acknowledged the pivotal role of parents and guardians of the students, applauding their unwavering support. Addressing the graduates, the CM urged them to embrace their future with confidence, guided by the values instilled at Ziauddin University -- integrity, service, and excellence.
He also reflected on the extraordinary growth of Ziauddin University under the visionary leadership of Dr Asim Hussain. He praised the institution's legacy, noting its origins in a humble maternity home founded by Dr Aijaz Fatima and Dr Tajamul Hussain, which has evolved into a respected network of five hospitals and a premier academic institution.
Highlighting milestones, such as the launch of the Sukkur Campus of the Ziauddin University by the president of Pakistan, the CM commended Ziauddin University's commitment to expanding access to world-class education and healthcare in underserved areas. “Sukkur is emerging as a hub of academic and medical excellence, and Ziauddin University has played a pivotal role in this transformation,” he remarked.
Reaffirming the Sindh government's commitment to supporting progressive educational initiatives, he emphasised the importance of institutions like Ziauddin University in shaping a knowledge-driven society.
In his closing remarks, Shah urged the graduates to aim for personal success and meaningful impact. “Make your university proud. Make your families proud. And above all, make your country proud.”
