Kabaddi events vital to protecting youth from negativities
LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Labour, Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that regular holding of kabaddi tournaments can play a vital role in protecting the younger generation from negative activities. The top performing kabaddi players will be given scholarships from Sports Endowment Fund.
He expressed these views while addressing the opening ceremony of 3-Nation ‘Baba Guru Nanak International Kabaddi Cup’ at the Wapda Sports Complex on Wednesday. The teams from Pakistan, India and Iran are participating in the three-day event. Faisal Khokhar also watched the opening match between Iran and India.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister described kabaddi as a cultural identity of Punjab and Pakistan and said that such international competitions not only promoted sports among the youth but also promote regional harmony and friendship.
