‘No obstacle to justice to be tolerated’
HANGO: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Zeeshan Asghar on Tuesday said that the job of the police is not only the rule of law, but also the service of the people and every possible step should be taken to improve this service.
He said that no obstacle to justice will be tolerated. He expressed these views during an open court on the premises of Mochiwala police station. District Police Officer (DPO) Bilal Iftikhar and other senior police officers of the district were present in the open court for immediate compliance of the directions of the RPO.
The open court was attended by a large number of villagers. RPO Zeeshan Asghar listened to the complaints of the applicants and issued orders to the officers concerned. The RPO directed the police officers to resolve the public complaints on priority basis and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
DC SEEKS REPORT FROM EDUCATION CEO: Following the ongoing heatwave, District Education Authority/Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar on Tuesday sought a progress report from the chief executive officer (CEO) Education regarding the implementation of previously issued directives for the provision of clean and cold drinking water, as well as the proper functioning of ceiling fans in school classrooms.
Taking notice of public complaints about non-functional electric water coolers and ceiling fans - particularly in girls’ schools - the DC had directed local education administrators to begin inspections of both public and private schools. The inspections aim to ensure the availability of clean and cold drinking water and the proper working condition of ceiling fans in classrooms of schools across both urban and rural areas. The DC further directed that no student should be forced to study outdoors during the peak summer heat. He emphasised that local education authorities must ensure full implementation of these directives by the license-holding owners of private schools, in letter and spirit, for the welfare of schoolchildren. Speaking to The News, DC Ali Akbar reiterated that he was pursuing a zero-tolerance policy regarding the absence of essential facilities in public and private schools across the district.
