Over 50 doctors, nutritionists deputed to look after Punjab athletes
LAHORE:In preparation for the upcoming 35th National Games scheduled to be held at Karachi from May 1 to 9, the Sports Board Punjab has announced that over 50 doctors and nutritionists will be deployed to provide proper healthcare awareness and dietary guidance to all male and female Punjab athletes during 2-week camp training.
In this regard, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry chaired a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Monday, where he discussed the arrangements for the training camps. The meeting was attended by Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) CEO Idris Haider Khwaja, and the team of medical and nutritional specialists.
Khizar Afzaal emphasised that this decision was taken to prioritize the health and fitness of athletes participating in the training camps at different sports venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC). The doctors and nutritionists will conduct lectures for players and coaches, highlighting the importance of a balanced diet and peak fitness level.
