ECO delegation visits heritage sites
LAHORE:A delegation from ECO (Economic Cooperation Organisation) countries visited Lahore’s historical Shalimar Garden and other cultural landmarks here on Monday.
Director General of Walled City Authority, Kamran Lashari warmly welcomed the delegation and gave them a guided tour, highlighting the Mughal architecture and various sections of the garden.
A vibrant cultural show was organised in the honour of the delegation, featuring renowned artistes who showcased regional dances, music, and folk art. The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the sky. The ECO delegation admired the captivating beauty of Shalimar Garden, describing it as an exceptional blend of Mughal architecture and natural splendor. Later, a special dinner was hosted in the Haveli Restaurant in Lahore in honor of the guests. Additional Chief Secretary Ahmad Raza Sarwar and Secretary of Tourism Fareed Ahmad Tarar warmly received the delegation. The guests were also given tours of the Lahore Fort, Badshahi Masjid, and Minar-e-Pakistan. The delegation found the evening views of these landmarks enchanting and took memorable photos and selfies.
ECO ambassadors also visited Delhi Gate, Gali Surjan Singh, and Masjid Wazir Khan. Refreshments were served, followed by a tour of the Shahi Hammam. The guests stated that the evening truly reflected Pakistan’s cultural identity and exceptional hospitality. On this occasion, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that the visit of the ECO delegation is proof of the international recognition of Pakistan’s tourism potential.
