Consumer protection

This letter refers to the news report ‘No use if benefits of reduced inflation not reaching common man: Aurangzeb’ (April 13, 2025). This is very true and, hopefully, the government will play its role in stabilising prices.
Till the end of March, my milkman was supplying milk at Rs225 per litre, but has now raised his price to Rs250 per litre, citing the high cost of living as the reason. In my humble view, the government should encourage the formation of consumer protection groups to counter such arbitrary acts by retailers.
