ISLAMABAD: In order to curb increasing differences over who should or should not meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, PTI political committee has formed a five-member panel to compile the list of visitors.

A meeting of the political committee was held in which various important issues, including the current overall situation of the country, were discussed in detail and some decisions were taken.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that a five-member committee would be formed to compile lists of the party people, who will meet their incarcerated leader Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In addition, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government officials will be exempted from this, and they will be free to meet PTI Founder Chairman Imran Khan on any day and at any time, and for this, the list of the five-member committee will not be mandatory.

According to the political committee’s statement, the committee would compile a list of names of those who would meet Imran Khan every Tuesday and Thursday. As far as possible, the approval of the list for the next meeting would be taken from Imran Khan in one meeting.

The list would be sent to the jail authorities through one of the three focal persons nominated by the founder chairman- (Chairman) Gohar Ali Khan, (Secretary General) Salman Akram Raja and lawyer Intezar Panjhuta).

PTI Information Secretary Sh Waqas Akram explained that this method is in accordance with the instructions of Chairman Imran Khan and the order of the Islamabad High Court. He was confident this would help streamline the matter.

The political committee made it clear that no person other than the list would meet Chairman Imran Khan and trying to go against it would be considered a violation of party discipline and the established rules.

In case any of the individuals on the list is stopped by the administration, the remaining individuals can meet Chairman Imran Khan under protest. In such a case, a contempt petition will be filed immediately against the jail authorities.
