LAHORE: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially announced the commencement of direct flights from Lahore to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, starting April 20, 2025.
Initially, the airline will operate two weekly flights departing every Sunday and Wednesday from Lahore. To mark the launch of this new route, PIA organized a special event in Karachi in honour of travel agents and tour operators, aiming to share detailed information about the new service and promote it within the travel industry.
During the event, travel partners were briefed about the flight schedule, facilities offered on the route and the broader strategic significance of Baku as a destination.
These new flights are expected to boost bilateral tourism and trade relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
PIA highlighted the pivotal role of travel agents in ensuring the success of the Baku route and reaffirmed its commitment to making this venture commercially viable and sustainable.
This expansion into new destinations reflects PIA’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the national flag carrier and enhance connectivity for Pakistani travelers.
