KOHAT: A senior police officer on Saturday directed his subordinates to extend full cooperation to the Public Liaison Council (PLC) or Citizen Police Liaison Committee members to facilitate their engagement in community policing initiatives.
A joint session of PLC was held at Police Lines Hangu under the chairmanship of Regional Police Officer (RPO), Kohat range, Abbas Majeed Marwat.
The meeting witnessed active participation from PLC members representing the Hangu, Doaba, and Thall circles. The members from various areas highlighted local issues, law and order concerns, and prevailing social challenges in detail.
The RPO underscored the importance of the PLCs while referring to the vision of KP Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed.
He said public participation was essential in addressing contemporary societal challenges and maintaining sustainable peace.
The RPO instructed PLC members to play a proactive role in raising awareness within their communities and to act as vital conduits between the public and law enforcement agencies.
He said the PLCs could play a pivotal role at the police station level in resolving community grievances, mediating disputes, and fostering a harmonious and law-abiding society.
