KARACHI: Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited has officially announced its plan to launch hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) models soon. The company shared the development in a formal communication to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday.
The announcement, made by Maqsoodur Rehman Rehmani, company secretary and vice president of Honda Atlas, underscores the company’s strategic focus on innovation and environmentally friendly transportation.
“This initiative reflects our continued commitment to innovation, environmental sustainability and offering advanced mobility solutions to our valued customers,” Rehmani said in the official notice. “The introduction of HEV models will mark a significant step forward in our product portfolio and support the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles in Pakistan.”
The move comes amid a rising global and domestic demand for greener automotive options as both consumers and governments place increased emphasis on reducing carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. Industry analysts see this as a major shift in Pakistan’s automotive market, where electric and hybrid vehicles still occupy a small but growing share.
While the company has not yet revealed a specific launch date or detailed specifications for the new HEV models, it confirmed that further information will be shared in due course. The development has been communicated to market participants through the PSX for timely dissemination.
