Action taken against shops selling cheating material
MINGORA: The district administration here on Tuesday launched a campaign to uphold transparency in ongoing matriculation examinations.
Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Swat, Shehzad Mehboob, Additional Assistant Commissioner Babuzai, Aftab Alam, raided shops in Mingora city selling cheating material.During the operation carried out in the Pulwasha Market area, thousands of pocket guides and micro-photostat notes were confiscated. Three shopkeepers were arrested for violating Section 144, which had been imposed by the deputy commissioner to curb the sale and distribution of such materials during the examination period.
FIRs were lodged against the violators.
The district administration views cheating as a serious impediment to both individual growth and national progress. According to officials, the reliance on unfair means dulled a person’s potential, weakened determination, and undermined the spirit of self-reliance - ultimately hindering the country’s development.
Deputy Commissioner Shehzad Mehboob reiterated his commitment to ensuring fair and transparent examinations across the district. He emphasized that strict monitoring would continue throughout the examination period, with daily enforcement operations aimed at dismantling networks that promote or facilitate cheating.
“The menace of cheating not only compromises the integrity of our education system but also erodes the moral fabric of our youth. We are determined to eliminate it through consistent action and zero tolerance,” he stated.
