ASF foils currency smuggling bid

The Airport Security Force on Tuesday foiled a currency smuggling attempt at the Karachi airport, seizing foreign currency worth over Rs20 million from a passenger travelling to Toronto.
According to reports, ASF officials became suspicious of the luggage of a passenger named Irfanul Haq, who was scheduled to board a flight to Toronto. Upon conducting a thorough inspection of his baggage, ASF personnel discovered $70,000 in US dollars, 2,200 Canadian dollars, and Rs160,000 in Pakistani currency. The total value of the seized foreign currency was estimated to be over Rs20.125 million.
