No compromise on patients’ care: minister

LAHORE:Minister Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department Khawaja Salman Rafique has said continuous inspection and monitoring of government teaching hospitals across the province, including Lahore is being done.

Speaking at a meeting here on Tuesday, the minister said, ‘We are trying to create facilities for the patients. MSs will also have to try and work hard to improve the situation. ‘Instructions have been given to display lists of medicines and duty rosters of doctors at prominent places in government hospitals.’ The minister directed keeping the queue management system active in government hospitals. He reviewed the monitoring report on government hospitals during the meeting. The officers concerned gave a briefing in this regard. In another meeting, the health minister said, ‘We are trying our best to improve the conditions of government hospitals. Commissioners and DCs are visiting government hospitals and giving feedback. No compromise will be made on the treatment and care of patients.

Mayo emergency dept gets CT-Scan machine

A 128-slice machine of modern German technology was made available to patients in the emergency department of Mayo Hospital. On this occasion, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique was the special guest at the inaugural ceremony.

Biometric attendance mandatory

Under the policy of Punjab government, the administration of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has made biometric attendance mandatory for employees up to grade 16. After the approval of Principal Ameeruddin Medical College Prof Al-Fareed Zafar, Medical Superintendent Prof Faryad Hussain has issued a formal letter in this regard.
