Qalandars wrap up training in Lahore
LAHORE: As excitement builds for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), defending champions Lahore Qalandars completed their final training session in Lahore with a scenario-based practice match at their camp.
Led by skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi, the session saw active participation from key players including Jahandad Khan, Zaman Khan, and Sikandar Raza, all working hard to fine-tune their strategies before the season opener.
The session also marked a positive development for spinner Asif Afridi, who has resumed bowling after recovering from a facial injury sustained during the National T20 Cup. His return is expected to bolster the Qalandars’ spin department.
This was the team’s second scenario-based practice match – a training technique aimed at preparing players for real-match situations under pressure. The Qalandars’ management emphasized intensity and clarity in roles as players geared up for their title defense.
The squad is scheduled to depart for Islamabad on Wednesday, where final preparations will continue. The arrival of the team’s foreign players will also begin from today, adding international flair and experience to the lineup.
Newly-appointed Head Coach Russell Domingo, known for his calm and tactical approach, will join the squad in Islamabad and lead the team in their final practice sessions on April 9 and 10.
Lahore Qalandars will begin their PSL 10 campaign with a blockbuster clash against Islamabad United on April 11 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. With eyes set on a strong start, the team is looking to carry the momentum from their intense training sessions into the tournament.
