Security forces kill ringleader among 9 terrorists in DI Khan operation
Khwarij ring leader Shireen was wanted by law-enforcement agencies due to involvement in terrorist activities
RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed nine khwarij (terrorists) including high-value target (HVT) and ring leader Shireen in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in general area Takwara of Dera Ismail (DI) Khan district on Sunday night.
“During conduct of the operation, troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, nine khwarij including HVT, khwarij ring leader Shireen, were sent to hell. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered,” said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release.
Khwarij ring leader Shireen was wanted by the law-enforcement agencies due to his involvement in numerous terrorist activities, and besides being involved in targeted killing of innocent civilians.
He was also responsible for martyrdom of Captain Hasnain Akhtar on March 20, 2025, it further said. “Today’s operation avenged the heinous act and brought the main perpetrator to justice,” the press release said.
“Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other khwarij found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” it added.
Meanwhile, President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Monday lauded the security forces for sending nine khwarij to hell in a successful operation in DI Khan district.
They appreciated the valour of security forces for eliminating terrorists of Fitna-al-Khwarij, including their leader.
The president said that operations carried out by the security forces would continue till complete elimination of terrorists, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
The president observed that Pakistan’s security forces were conducting successful operations to eradicate terrorism which was commendable.
He said their resolve for complete elimination of terrorist elements and the defence of country would remain unwavering and reaffirmed the national resolve for complete eradication of Fitna-al-Khwarij.
The prime minister also appreciated the successful operation conducted by the security forces against the terrorists of Fitna-al-Khwarij.
“The entire nation stands firmly with the security forces in the fight against terrorism,” PM Office Media Wing, quoted the prime minister as saying. The prime minister also expressed determination to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
