LAHORE : Following the policy to change the provincial metropolis into a livable city, The Lahore Development Authority (LDS) has completed the beautification and uplifting of Thokar’s entry point.
Thokar’s entry point is one of the most important entry/exit points of the city and usually witnessed VVIP and VIP movement from the city to Lahore-Islamabad/Lahore-Multan motorways.
The point witnessed various changes during different regimes as during the Buzdar government a big gate was constructed at the point to make it prominent and beautiful.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid special attention for the uplifting and beautification of it, said Director General LDA Tahir Farooq while talking to the scribe here on Saturday.
Director General LDA Tahir Farooq said the CM also appreciated the authority for completing the uplifting and beautification of Thokar entry/exit point and directed to keep the point up-to-date.
Giving details, he said the major components of the uplifting and beautification of the project included widening and resurfacing of road, provision of ornamental footpath, provision of central fence, installation of information gantries on M-2 exit of Lahore, installation of feature wall on Thokar entry/exit point, installation of feature wall along ramp of M-2 exit, construction of monument at entry of Lahore on M-2, installation of solar powered high mast poles, construction of police check post at entry point, painting of entry gate and abandoned walls and construction of park and fountains.
The DG said the authority was doing its best to give facilities to the citizens and as per the vision of the CM multiple changes were introduced in the LDA’s internal as well as external working processes.
