14 injured as bus overturns on Barki Road
LAHORE : At least 14 passengers were injured when a mini-bus overturned on Barki Road here on Saturday, reportedly due to overspeed.
According to rescue officials, the incident took place in the morning when the driver of the mini-bus, carrying commuters along Barki Road, lost control of the vehicle. The bus skidded off the road and overturned, trapping the passengers inside.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said that the bus was being driven at excess speed and appeared to be swerving before it flipped over.
Upon receiving the emergency call, rescue teams and ambulances swiftly arrived at the site. Rescuers worked efficiently to pull out the injured from the mangled vehicle. The injured passengers were administered first aid on-site before being transported to Lahore General Hospital for further medical treatment.
Rescue 1122 officials confirmed that most of the injuries were non-fatal, though a few passengers sustained fractures and head injuries.
Hospital sources later reported that all injured individuals were in stable condition.
