PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif on Saturday stated that Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto could not refrain from criticising Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) even during his grandfather’s death anniversary.
Responding to Bilawal Bhutto’s statement, Barrister Saif said that those responsible for the menace of terrorism were the same political players who have been taking turns in power for the past several decades. He added that the scourge of terrorism has persisted for many years, and it was during Imran Khan’s tenure that the issue had been significantly addressed and curbed.
He pointed out the importance of engaging in dialogue with Afghanistan to eliminate terrorism.
Criticising Bilawal’s role in the federal government, Barrister Saif remarked that the PPP chairman was an equal partner in the “illegitimate” federal setup. He questioned Bilawal’s seriousness about tackling terrorism, noting that even during his time as foreign minister, he did not find it necessary to visit Afghanistan.
He concluded by expressing concern that the federal government neither allows the KP government to initiate dialogue with Afghanistan nor takes any meaningful step itself.
