A fire erupted on Friday afternoon at a cardboard factory located in the Ahsanabad area of Karachi. Although no casualties were reported in the incident, the fire was intense and the fire brigade’s operation was under way when this story was filed in the night hours.
According to a spokesperson for the fire brigade, the fire broke out at a two-storey cardboard factory located near the Super Highway in the Ahsanabad area. Fire Officer Miraj said the blaze had spread on both the storeys of the building and the fire brigade team was making efforts to extinguish it. A total of 10 fire brigade vehicles were called at the site along with a snorkel to assist with the firefighting operation.
Additionally, private water tankers were also summoned to support the operation. Firefighters reported that the fire broke out at around 3pm and efforts to control it had been ongoing since then. They said the initial phase of the operation was focused on containing the flames to prevent further spread. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. So far, there have been no reports of any casualties or injuries.
