Skipping Eid duty Six TMA officers suspended in Khanpur

HARIPUR: The Local Council Board KP has suspended six officers, including the tehsil municipal officer of Tehsil Municipal Administration Khanpur on the charges of skipping the Eid duty.

An office order issued with the signatures of Admin Officer Local Government and Elections and Rural Development Department Local Council Board Peshawar on Friday said a probe was also ordered by appointing Deputy Secretary M&E Local Council Board asking him to submit a fact-finding report with recommendations within seven days.

Official sources said that the disciplinary action against six senior officers of the TMA Khanpur was initiated by secretary Local Government on the directives of Minister for Local Government and Election Arshad Ayub Khan who visited the TMA offices after attending the funeral prayer of one of his supporters in Bandi Muneem on Friday morning.

Official sources said that consequent upon public reports, the highups paid a surprise visit to the TMA Khanpur on April 4 and found the officers of TMA, including woman TMO, absent from official duty. According to notification, the officers of the TMA were repeatedly asked to ensure disposal of their official duties by not absenting their offices without prior intimation to their seniors but they failed. “They violated the instructions of competent authorities of the department particularly during Eid days which invited public grievances,” said the official notification. The competent authority on administrative grounds and in the best interest of the public, according to notification, suspended the Aisha Tahira, tehsil municipal officer Khanpur, Faisal Abbasi, tehsil officer Revenue, Amir Khan tehsil officer Finance/Accountant, Engineer Muhammad Javed, tehsil officer Infrastructure and Muhammad Abbas Jadoon sub-engineer.

According to notification, the Local Council Board’s authorities have given the additional charge of the suspended officers to Gul Naib Khan, TMO Haripur, Iqbal Hussain TOR, Mudassir Hussain TOF/Accountant, Waseem Kamran, TOI and Noman Khan, sub- engineer.
