PESHAWAR: Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Tourism and Culture Zahid Chanzeb on Thursday said that over 0.3 million tourists had visited the scenic places in the province during the Eid holidays.
He said that Swat valley attracted the most visitors with over 211,000 tourists exploring various sites.On the directives of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Advisor on Tourism and Culture Zahid Chanzeb, various tourism authorities, tourism police and the tourism helpline (1422) were mobilised during Eidul Fitr to facilitate tourists and visitors at different tourist destinations across the province.
According to official statistics, more than 306,215 tourists thronged Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s scenic sites during the three-day Eid holidays.They enjoyed the natural beauty at the tourist attractions and the facilities provided by the Tourism Department.
Swat Valley recorded the highest number of visitors with 211,009 tourists exploring its picturesque sites, Naran Valley received 42,111 tourists, Galiyat saw 28,000 visitors while Kumrat Valley attracted 16,400 tourists.
To ensure a smooth travelling for tourists, tourism police personnel were assigned special duties across various tourist spots as per the directions of Advisor Zahid Chanzeb.Their leaves were canceled to effectively manage tourist activities and maintain order throughout the holiday period.
