RAWALPINDI: Army chief Gen Syed Asim Munir celebrated Eidul Fitr with officers and jawans stationed on the western border.
On the first day of Eid, the army chief visited South Waziristan’s Wana area and Dera Ismail Khan and participated in Eid prayers. He prayed for stability and prosperity of Pakistan.
According to ISPR, the army chief, while speaking to the soldiers, said, “Your determination not only keeps the nation safe but it also serves as an example of sincere patriotism.”
He praised the officers and soldiers for their unshakable commitment and exemplary services emphasizing the importance of their role in securing the country’s borders. Gen Munir commended the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their bravery in the face of terrorism. The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have consistently demonstrated courage against the scourge of terrorism, he said.
The army chief lauded the performance of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies saying the successes became possible as a result of unprecedented sacrifices of martyrs.
As per the ISPR, upon his arrival, the Peshawar corps commander warmly welcomed the army chief.
