MULTAN: Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani extended Eidul Fitr greetings to the Islamic world, urging philanthropists to remember the oppressed Palestinians during their celebrations.
Speaking to journalists on Eid, Gillani said that the Pakistan Peoples Party has no objections to the canals project and called for political unity to strengthen the country.
He reiterated his Eid greetings, emphasizing the need to remember Muslims in Gaza and Kashmir, as well as those who sacrificed their lives. He mentioned discussions on climate change during the National Security Council meeting and pledged democratic efforts to address the issue. Gillani also paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for their sacrifices.
Earlier, the Senate chairman celebrated Eid with orphaned and underprivileged children at the SOS village Multan, describing it as an honour and blessing. He distributed gifts and Eidi, urging philanthropists to support vulnerable children, highlighting that serving them is an act of worship. He offered advice to the children and praised the SOS Multan village organisers for their arrangements, encouraging affluent individuals to donate generously.
Gilani offered Eid prayers at the shrine of Hazrat Musa Pak Shaheed, accompanied by shrine caretaker Syed Abu Al Hassan Gilani, ex-PA Syed Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani, MNA Syed Ali Musa Gilani, and MPA Syed Ali Haider Gilani.
