Trader shot dead by robbers at his doorstep in DHA

Armed robbers shot and killed a trader in front of his family at his doorstep in the Defence area on the third day of Eidul Fitr on Wednesday.

In another incident on the night of Chaand Raat, a man was killed and another injured in a robbery attempt in Fakira Goth near the Super Highway.

CCTV footage of the Defence incident has surfaced, showing the criminals in action. With this incident, the number of citizens killed by robbers' gunfire this year has risen to 26.

The shooting incident took place near the Tooba Masjid in DHA Phase I. The victim was identified as 35-year-old Aamir, son of Sultan. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

The incident was confirmed as a robbery attempt. Aamir had come downstairs with his family and was getting into his car when armed robbers on a motorcycle approached him. As they attempted to rob him, the man put up resistance, prompting the criminals to open fire.

He was shot three times, with two bullets fatally hitting his head.

Aamir was involved in an import-export business. The robbers fled the scene after the shooting. Police have recovered three 9mm bullet casings from the crime scene, which have been sent for forensic analysis.

Karachi Additional IG Javed Alam Odho took strict notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the South SSP ordering immediate action.

A special police team is analysing the CCTV footage to identify and arrest the culprits.

Earlier, on Chaand Raat, a robbery attempt in Fakira Goth, Super Highway Industrial Area, led to the death of a man and injury to another. The incident occurred near Mehmood Malik Shop, where three armed robbers on a motorcycle tried to rob a man named Rahat Gul.

Rahat, who had just stepped out of a barber shop after getting a haircut, was confronted by the robbers. When he resisted, the criminals opened fire, killing him on the spot. Meanwhile, another man, Kashif, who was passing through the street, was hit by a stray bullet and injured. Both the victims were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Police confirmed that the incident was a result of a robbery attempt. Rahat was a resident of Fakira Goth. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
