Pakistan’s first pedestrian market ‘Bank Road’ flooded with Eid shoppers
Rawalpindi : A sense of daytime was felt at midnight when the Bank Road turned pedestrian zone was heavenly flooded with Eid shoppers just a couple of nights before Eidul Fitr, while beautiful benches, food cabins, dazzling lights, and the fragrance of blooming flowers delighted visitors.
A large number of women, youth, and families from Rawalpindi and its surrounding areas flocked to the major brands on Bank Road, the first-ever Pedestrian Market of the country, remodelled by Rawalpindi’s Cantonment Board (RCB). Buyers enjoyed shopping in the pleasant atmosphere of the street.
Witnessing for the first time during Ramadan, the visitors appreciated the historic Bank Road Saddar saying their ''dream came true'' to see it as a walking street, the project of RCB. The bazaar has been decorated with stalls of jewellery, bangles, and mehndi set up for buyers for Eid hopping. RCB has made excellent arrangements for shoppers visiting the pedestrian street.
CEO Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, Syed Ali Irfan Rizvi has issued special instructions to make accommodating arrangements for visitors like ample parking, e-vehicles etc. Personnel have been deployed from the sanitation, security, engineering, and garden branches at the walking street.
