Honda Atlas exports first-ever CBU units
KARACHI: Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Ltd (HACPL) has achieved a major milestone in the country’s automotive industry with its first-ever export of completely built-up (CBU) units. The company dispatched 40 Honda City 1.2L vehicles to Japan, marking a significant step in Pakistan’s efforts to integrate into the global automotive supply chain.
The export launch ceremony, held at HACPL’s facility, was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan along with key government and industry officials, including Industries Secretary Saif Anjum and Engineering Development Board CEO Khuda Baksh Ali.
During his visit to the HACPL plant, Khan commended the company’s production capabilities and quality standards, highlighting its role in boosting local manufacturing and exports. “This milestone underscores Pakistan’s growing potential as a competitive player in the global automotive market,” he said. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering an export-led industrial ecosystem through policy support and infrastructure development.
HACPL President Aamir H Shirazi praised government efforts to create a business-friendly environment, while Honda’s Takafumi Koike reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to innovation and global excellence. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolising the company’s entry into international markets, followed by a tree plantation drive reflecting its commitment to sustainability.
Khan urged other local manufacturers to explore global opportunities, expressing confidence in Pakistan’s potential to emerge as a regional hub for automotive production and exports.
