ISLAMABAD: Partnered with Spanish Oscar Casas, Pakistan’s 15-year-old Mikaeel Ali Baig won the doubles title in the ITF Juniors in Sri Lanka.
Despite a challenging draw this week, Mikaeel reached both singles and doubles finals. The pair emerged as doubles champion beating the Latvian Pair of Timur and Bogdan 6-3, 6-4. Mikaeel however lost the singles final to Malaysian Devesh Sarawanan 4-6, 4-6. Due to his consistent performances, Mikaeel’s world ranking has improved from the 1400 to 800.
