Govt extends gas supply for urea sector until June 30
Officials expressed satisfaction with current urea stock levels and reaffirmed their commitment to market stability
ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday extended gas supply to the urea sector for three more months, ensuring uninterrupted availability of the vital fertilizer for farmers until June 30, 2025, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research announced in a news statement.
The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammed Ishaq Dar, attended by Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Petroleum, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, and senior officials.
Officials expressed satisfaction with current urea stock levels and reaffirmed their commitment to market stability. Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain assured that the government will continue working with stakeholders to prevent supply disruptions and protect farmers from price volatility.
