LAHORE:A youth died due to alleged Mozang police torture on Wednesday. According to police, Ejaz, a drug peddler, was arrested from Ichhara and during investigation his health deteriorated and he was rushed to hospital where he died. The family members of the victim accused the police of killing him during torture. They said he was not wanted by police in any case and the police fabricated him in a false narcotics case.
They also accused police of taking away cash and jewellery from his house. The police sources said the Mozang Police wanted to arrest Ejaz’s brother Inam, who managed to escape. The police maintained that Ejaz was wanted in drug-related cases. SP Civil Lines Abdul Hannan dismissed the family’s allegations of torture.
