LAHORE:The Punjab Excise & Taxation Department has achieved a major breakthrough in property tax collection with the successful recovery of Rs15 million from Dolmen Mall Lahore.

According to Regional Director Mushtaq Fareedi, Dolmen Mall is owned by DHA, and this marks the first instance of a formal tax recovery notice being issued to the property, resulting in the collection. Director General Excise & Taxation Punjab, Umer Sher Chattha, highlighted that this achievement reflects the department’s transparent and indiscriminate enforcement of tax regulations.

He reiterated that the ongoing crackdown on property tax defaulters will continue with full force until all outstanding dues are collected. “The purpose of these field operations is not to create difficulties for property owners but to instill a sense of responsibility regarding tax obligations,” said DG Excise.

He emphasised that enhanced tax collection will significantly boost provincial resources, ultimately benefiting the public through improved government services. He urged property owners to fulfill their tax obligations in a timely manner, stating that increased revenue generation is directly linked to public welfare.

He also issued a stern warning to defaulters, stressing that strict legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply with tax requirements. The department remains committed to its unbiased enforcement policy to expand the tax net and strengthen government finances.
